How is this made?????

Anybody have any idea what this compound is? I know its tungsten but what else? And do any of you favor Tungsten over Lead,tin,pewter?

Got me , but I'd think the head is cast in 2 pcs then snapped together over the hook afterwards painted. The powder coating would make it water tight. I can see some advantages to production in going that route.

I read that the heads are a "tungsten/polymer" which I take to mean heavy metal powder suspended in a plastic. My guess is it won't be fluid enuf to mold pour around a hook like molten metals, so "toadfrog"s explanation makes sense. Mind boggling high tech...
