My theory...both fish were after same minner. Both fish freight trained bait and ran into each other. Fish #1 impaled fish #2's mouth???????????????

Ive seen it a few times...Mostly with small buck bass,maybe a # or a little better trying to eat one close to the same size.I was able to help a pair like that a while back,but seen a couple that neither made it...

I've had a few bass in my aquarium over the years,that may may have a tail of a good size neighbor hanging half way out for a day or two,till they finally got it down..
