I'm having a heck of a time with these micro jigs.I get them looking ok and then when finishing it out, I pull a ittle to hard and the whole works spins around the hook shank and just will never be right again.I'm wondering if it is the thread that I am using or just poor technique ??

Make sure you have a good tight thread base to the hook point , slap some head cement or Sally's on the thread base, then tie in your material, coat your thread neck again..

My experience with that has been either not a good enough thread base or not enough tension onthe material, so I tie all my jigs that way with great success. Other more experienced tiers may have some other advice. Let us know the outcome Bruce.

You can also put a dab of Sally's etc before you start your thread neck as some extra, but I am known to over do things from time to time

What happy said get your thread base tight on the hook. At the point where you're going to start the chenille I like to put two nice snug half hitch's - if your chenille is set right it's not gonna move!!! Get an old hook and a bunch of scrap pieces and just practice it.

I use 6/0 and 8/0 thread but also 210 Denier Flat Waxed Thread it lays really flat without a lot of buildup.

I'm gonna be on the search for someone who pours a 1/64oz ballhead myself here soon. I got some cheap here awhile back, but they have a barbed collar. That sucks for trying to make a nice smooth thread body!

To tell you all the honest truth,I would rather make 6 of these then 1 of them little things, lol.I could knock off a chip of lead from his nose and it would be bigger then then litlle tiny jigs.He would still catch 1 fish big enough to feed the whole family with some leftovers, lol.
