Played around with some Clear Cure Goo for a jig swap. I like this stuff and cant wait to come up some other color combos. The holgraphic orange flash that is seen through the clear goo was a bit tough to work with but when I foound it on a spool it made things alot easier. What do you guys think? Have you ever had a chance to work with clear cure goo?

Nice looking jig - How pricey is pricy??? And do you need one of the UV lights for it??? I know we like our jigs to look good and work good but does there come a point that we say enough??? I know a lot of guys who use Devcon 2T for coating, epoxy, clear rubber cement??

I don't use Clear Cure Goo for the simple reason .............price. Since they have come out with the tack free product I like it better. I have friends who use it and they have let me try. I like it and I might break down and buy the system some day.

I like it except for price. I prefer the hydro over the others. To help on costs I bought a 4.5 volt power supply to run the UV light.
Got tired of buying triple aaa batteries everytime I turned around. Had to cut the connector off then determined which one was + and wired in a switch. Doesn't look pretty but works like a champ.

Since I don't sell or trade my jigs I can pretty much ignore costs upto a certain point. Cheapest I have found the hydro is 19.95.
It does quite a few jigs per one bottle though. Epoxy glue would be cheaper but I hate working with that stuff.

Nice jig! I have experience with Loon outdoors UV clear fly finish, I believe brand gives you the most product for your buck. I got a bottle for around $15 on Amazon (2 oz bottle that will last me a really long time). It does have a slight "tacky" finish once cured, but a quick coat with nail polish cures that. I think it is superior to epoxies because it doesn't have such a hard/brittle final cure. I've thin coated some nail polish painted heads with the goop and done a drop test on concrete and had no issues with paint chipping. Another plus with these products is no waste or worry about working time as well as no odors (that I have noticed). When I run out of the loon stuff I would like to try some of the "tack free" variety from Clear Cure or Bug Bond.

Grreat lookin jig.

I think the uv gel used for fingernails and uv polishes are probably cheapest. Plus they have the AC lamps for setting up the uv. Sally Hansons brand is expensive.

I have only begun using it over 3D eyes to lock them down. I would like to experiment on bodies as you have. Nice tie.

I bought a UV flash light that looks identical to the clear goo flashlight at the Philadelphia Sport show in Oaks, Pa. a couple weeks ago. The price was right at 2 for 10.00. Split with a friend of mine who is an avid fly tier among other fly fishing endeavors. He has used the clear goo in the past and says you can purchase clear goo type products on ebay at very good prices. Will be checking it out and if I find something suitable I'll post. Pop

Thanks guys. Im still exploring in what all to use thisGoo for but I bought the kit awhile ago for $50 that included the loght, 2 type's for Goo (thick & Think), and 2 tips. That hurt a bit but Im sure next time I know what to buy. I havent tried the Thin goo but I was able to manipulate the Thick goo rather well
