The top jig is a 3/32oz head in black with blue flake. I used black bucktail with some blue flash, purple cactus chenille with a red soft grizzly hackle collar to finish. The bottom jig is a 1/16oz head in baby bass green with black flake. I used orange hackle feathers on the tail along with some green flash and finished with orange cactus chenille. I tied these up as my grandson wanted to watch, he came home from school early and isn't feeling up to doing anything but he wants to learn so bad that he asked if I would tie and tell him what I was doing so if he feels better tomorrow he can make some jigs with me.

Way cool jigs - hope you get the lil guy tying - fun times for sure. Never know, he might come up with "the one".

Really liking those smaller collars you are using - should make a good illusion of gills and fins when the jig is on the move. Add some xtra profile.

Thanks guys, I wasn't sure about collars but I went ahead and got some hackle and then I found out I got the wrong stuff, I got soft hackle so I got some chinese saddle hackle in fl. orange and made jigs using both and I now know what they do and what to use them for. The soft hackle make a nice collar especially in the red grizzly as it does look like gills and it has a nice natural movement in the water, when you move it it folds back a little but as soon as you stop it it flairs out again and sort of breaths, I really like it an think it will catch some good fish this fall.
