Took my pro staff aka dad out to the lake today. We have both been so busy this last month or so, we needed some fresh air. Wind blowing right down the lake, so 90% of the productive spots for crappie were getting beat up.... So on to a few potential early bluegill spots. We found one transition area that was maybe 10 feet wide and 20 feet long where they were staged up.
He and I fished side by side, and went fish for fish until I started switching it up. He kept catching, and I was very sporadic. I was trying out a few new ideas, but nothing caught them like my little black and purple bug I use 99% of the time. Went back to it, and caught back up quickly!
We ended up with an even 30 keepers. All males. The females we caught were all VERY full of eggs, and they got gently placed back in the water to go make babies. These boys will get released to lake Crisco this week!
