Giant Calif crappie

I caught this 18" fish this morning on one of LedHed's red eye shad maribou jigs at Lake Perris. Fought great on 2 lb line. After photo and measuring, it was released.

I'd guess 3+lbs. Saw a crappie mounted in a tire shop yesterday and asked the owner where the fish was caught and weight. Told me he caught it at Lake Fork here in Texas and it had been on ice for a day and a half. It weighed 3 3/4lbs when they finally got around to weighing it, so he says. It was huge! State record here is 4.56lbs.

Wow, that's the biggest one I've ever seen. My wife caught a 13" once and I thought that was big.
