Found a use for some swim jigs

I came across a old stash of Luck "E" Strike Bass Magic Swim Jigs in 1/16, 3/16, and 1/8. They are not the normal hooks I use... But I had a small flash of genius and wanted to see if I could tie something on them.



Barred Chartruese, Barred Olive, Brown, Gizzard Shad, and Black. I was hoping I could get something to bite on them...

The smallies liked the black swim jig. Even in 38 degree water, with a cold storm front moving in, wind, snow, blah, blah, blah. They worked!!

Someone else on the board tied something similar to that for saltwater a while back. Can't remember offhand his name/handle. He hasn't posted in a long time.

Nice ties and nice smallies - You keep that damned snow right there in PA - it's been staying in the low to mid 50's here in Vermont and in 30 and a 1/2 days knock on wood I'll be fishing for the first time in over 2 years!!!!!!!!

Yes, nice chunkies. Did you find that jig design more snag resistant than standard 90* or 60* hooked heads? How about hooksetting?

Were the pics taken the same day? What was the air temp?

We found that this jig is MUCH more snag resistant. In fact, we liked it so much... we bought a mold and 1,000 hooks!!! The hookset was very easy... those hooks are super sharp. The pics were taken the same day. The air temp was about 30F degrees with a westerly wind and scattered flurries. It was March 9th to be exact. The very last cold day we had in North East Pennsylvania. Now it's 70F and beautiful!! The water temp varied from 39F at 8am to 41 at 2pm.
