I have made a bunch of home made jig/fly boxes. Plano boxes, VHS boxes, Tuperware containers, Altoids tins........ they all work well as long as you keep them dry. Usually i either hot glue or rubber cement some sort of dense foam inside them. They work very well, until you stick a hook inside the foam ten-twenty times and it begins to break down. In the past, i have chosen to pitch the entire box instead of trying to rip out the ruined foam and start over.
Found these slotted sheets while thumbing through the F-C catalog....
F-C "SLOTTED FOAM PATCH"
An 11" x 17" patch costs about $13. Not too bad i think. Could make me a ton of pocket size Altoid jig/fly tins that would last forever.
Plan is to place an order with F-C in a few weeks with some (tax) mad money so hope to give a review of the material. Is on my wish list.
