Finally found some time ...

Got some time last weekend to break out the Lee's pot & melt some lead

Probably not a smart thing to do when the temps outside were over 100dF, but worked outside in shifts

Through the week, cleaned off the slag & painted 100 jigs in 1/8, 3/16, and 1/4 oz on 2/0 and 3/0 Mustad hooks

Well done. Do you use those for fresh or saltwater? That is a great weedless flounder jig.

Although it would work for salt, I use them mostly for fresh water rivers - the mid-atlantic rivers are full of ledges & holes that eat jigs on the first cast. This design resists snags so I can drag a tube, stixbait, swim bait or any other chunk of plastic across the bottom

Dang, you are brave melting lead this time of year... Didn't know it got that warm there.

I like the swim jig design of that mold compared to the cylinder style molds. It offers a nice wobble on the fall and when retrieved. I use a Walleye style swim jig for Pompano.

To fish for Pompano, I use mostly 3/8 with a teaser on a loop knot. To fish for Specks, Flounder or Reds with plastic, I use mostly 1/8, 3/0.

Most of the time I'm throwing 1/8 oz for small mouth, but the 3/16 works in deeper areas

That's a nice looking jig. Should have good wobble to it. As far as casting when it's hot out, what the heck, the mold is just pre-heated that way! Just don't let your sweat drip into the melting pot

Learned that a long time ago. Now I keep well back from the melted lead when the sweats dripping
