Have to make a correction from my original post - these are NOT banana heads. There is a head style called a banana and the shape of those look very close to a banana. These are not it.

Bombora - Bet these would be excellent for scooting across the sand.... I don't get the chance to fish saltwater so have really never tried to create a crab with the flat/wide shell - but does get me thinking.
LostPole - I do not use these verticaly straight under a boat or a float at all. The hook eye is so far out in front of the head weight, i consider these strictly swimming and bottom dragging jigs for casting. If you can keep the knot straight on the topside of the hook eye, they could be used verticaly........ when they fall, they do glide some from the flat bottom.
