Family Fun at The Trout Park

I had a very fun weekend at Bennett Springs State Park with a bunch of my family. i just had to share a few pics. It Rained the first full day I was there but it didn't spoil the fun. I didnt have waders but I got in the stream anyway. I was about frozen solid by the time I was done each day. :icon14:

My nephew now wears the crown for best trout fisherman. He caught the most fish every day. This is one of his bigger ones.

Getting all of our crew together for a fishing trip (something that hasn't happened since I was a kid) was Awesome but Seeing my Mom, my sister and my Niece catch their very First trout made the weekend That much more Awesome.

Great trip, a special one with all the family there. Nice looking stream, I might have to give it a try next year. It's a longer drive for me, usually hit Maramec Springs or Montauk. Size of fish was way down this year, actually caught a few in the 5 inch class, smallest trout ever caught.

Nice, that bigger trout looks thick and healthy. What jigs/lures/bait were most effective?

The majority of the fish that were caught out of our group were caught on either Brown or yellow single hook rooster tail spinners. I tried to stick to jigs and flies. Three of the fish i caught were on jigs from swap 17. :icon14: Shoemoo,Bucko,LedHed. I caught 2 on one of my red/white 1/48 mean minner boolies and caught 3 on a 1/32 Black/Yellow Marabou with black head and yellow eyes.
