Morning guys,
anyone out there use Epoxy or UV Resin? I am looking into testing some out on some of my patterns.
Any comment or suggestions would be great!
Epoxy (30 min.) is great but you will have to rotate your tye so it will dry even. I have no experience with the UV. I use nail polish for a clearcoat over my jigs.
I use Loon Products UV (Knot Sense, or Wader Repair) It's the same product, but just marketed with different names. Put some on.. hit it with the UV light and in 3 seconds it's dry!! No waiting, no mess, no fuss... and the results are EXCELLENT!
I use Devcon 2 Ton (unthinned 30 minute epoxy) to coat jig heads painted with acrylic paint or nail polish before tying with them. Honestly, It makes my jig heads look their very best in my opinion. However, if you don't like waiting on it to dry, then it won't be for you.
It's a durable finish that protects a dipped/brushed-on paint too. :jig: :icon14:
I have the two part Component Systems epoxy and hadn't been able to use it. Called CS and they said it should be fine for use. but I asked them about their Seal Coat and it's supposed to be as good as epoxy without having to mix and no smell.
