I've got a little bit of it, but hold onto it. Now the lemon wood duck you're right it's guarded!!!!!!!!! You'd think they were gold as much as they charge if you have to buy them. Luckily I manage to trade enough every year to keep a good supply.

Grey and white flank feathers and some from Gadwall ducks - the gadwalls are darker.

The lemon wood duck feathers are used on Catskill Dry flys

I use lemon wood duck flank feathers quite a bit on duck jigs and fish love them. I trade jigs with a guy for wood duck feathers and have a good supply,even dyed some pink. They aren't just for dry flies.I prefer the one's without the white/black tip. I put the one's with the black/white to the side and use the other ones. Whether the are mallard,gadwalls,teal or wood ducks they all work great. I don't know why because they don't have action like other baits but they have caught thousands of fish for me in the years I've been tying them. It's probably the barred coloration they have,look more like a minnow then anything I've ever used.

Don't know how I missed this thread but Zac the jig are very nice and great color combos. Love the duck jigs as they work well with any fish I go after. I never seem to get a good bag either and each time when going through the bag for the long feathers the air is full of small downs.

Jim - If you have large ones with the black/white tip you might check with the guys on the fly boards as they use those for salmon flies, you might find a good trade for them.
