Sometime back I did some trading with several folks for some hair . I was undecided as to what it was . Did we or didn't we decide it was badger hair . Suffering from CRS.

Had a baby one for a pet . Didn't get to see him grown . He got outside and my sheppard killed him . It got a couple good licks in before the dog won .

Generally they will take off unless cornered . I caught this baby in a road ditch momma dang near got me before I got in the truck . She even jumped and tried to climb the side . Remember this if you ever try to hand catch a badger . They have a very loose hide . Enough room for a whole other badger and it seems like they can turn around in their own hide to get you . Pin their head down with a forked stick . Grip very hard a the base off their skull and just behind the jaw . Trust me no matter how small you won't hurt him . Piss him off yes . Then you grab the loose hide at his rump to carry him off . DON"T LET GO OF EITHER END . ESPECIALLY THE ONE WITH TEETH IN IT .

I see a few of them smooshed on the side of the road here in the summer. I've thought about picking one up for materials, but I know next to nothing about tanning hides. It's not like raccoons or squirrels where you can just hack the tail off and pack it with salt.
