Went to my buddy"s place to day,he skins and cuts up the deer,to remind him to save me the deer tail,he already had 14 saved for me from bow hunting,he will have 150+tails by the time he is done. One of the tails was black instead of brown , I've already washed them.2u5rmkz.jpg

Nice!! free is always better! Anytime I get any I use dawn dish soap and borax in warm water to wash them up - and I use an old hair brush and brush them really good. This helps straighten the hairs and you wouldn't believe the dirt you can get out of the hair way down by the skin.

I have already deboned them and removed all fat from them. They will be salted down for 2 days, then they will go in a solution of alum and water for 14 days.I will rinse them and then stretch them out to dry. They will turn out like the ones bought from a store.
