After playing around with the new palmering technique for a good part of the afternoon I called it quits and surfed the web a bit and then retired to watch a little television. I wasn't going to tie anything until the neighbor kid started banging on my door asking for another black marabou jig, I gave him a bunch of jigs I made as he is into fishing and at 12 years old he is only starting to fish lures so I help him out since his dad is more hunter than angler. Well it turns out he has been pounding some nice bass anbd huge pickerel with the marabou jigs I tied for him, his dad had pics on his cell phone for me and told me that out of the 4 of them fishing his son was the only one using the jigs and was the only one catching big fish so I tied some more up and this one I decided to take a pic of. I call it dark shadows since I didn't use any flash and kept the entire jig dark. It is a 3/32oz head with a size 1 hook, a dark olive regular cut zonker strip which you can't really see, 2 black marabou feathers and size 6 black chenille.

SJ- nice looking jig. Always a plus when you get a great report like that on your jigs.

You ain't kidding about material Fatman, because not only does he hunt but he is also a Taxidermist!!!!! Natural bucktail for me!! But he helps me out because his son loves to fish and he can only do so much because all he really knows how to do is drown worms and fish minnows. I have given his little guy an old but very well kept baitcasting rod and reel and now he has 3 because he has the fever! I make small spinnerbaits for him to go with the jigs and I teach him how to use artificials but his dad told me he doesn't want to use the bait after the day he had on the jigs!!

Ah!!!! Corrupting of a kid in a good way!!!!!!!!!!! He'll learn they'll be days for articficials and a day for bait, but as long as he's hooked that's what counts.
