Where's the rabbit tutorial Russ?!

Some Big Timer in Ohio sent me a bag of foreign, to me, material. Since that tutorial is missing.....Russ......
I had no idea what to do with this strip of rabbit, so I went the bou route and cut n stacked.
Looks decent, but know there's a better way. May have wanted too much from a short hook.

1/32 RD minner head
Black chrome pp (really cool stuff)
Anthracite chenille
Dagnabbit Rabbit strippy hairs

I've not seen that shade of two tone color - must be an uncommon natural not available from commercial outlets. I really like the brown-gray shading, and thats a well balanced big fluff tie.

Looks good to me Adam! You will have to tank test it and check out the motion. A thicker tail with rabbit fur has slower action..... thinned down has ALOT more. It is all what you want out of it though - i tie them both ways. To put on a full piece with the hide, just lay one end over the shank and start wrapping thread over it. They do make a much longer jig that way.

Hawn - if i remember right, that was a full hide purchased at a local craft shop. Of course they no longer carry that color. There is a color from Hareline that is close to it.... a 2-tone gray ......but can't remember the color name.

Did have some picts up in a thread at one time with some basic stuff about zonks but lost a few picts i had posted a while back.... lost a website account and had a bunch of picts hosted on it.

Love that black chrome PP, wow. Specially with the red hook. And Rondon heads are always awesome.
