I fished with a 9ft. custom rod that Mary Lou made for me, for the first time last weekend. The rod was fantastic. We caught some nice slabs for the freezer. But my favorite catch of the day was a 2 1/2 inch crappie. I felt this fish in 14 ft of water while wrestling with the TM with the wind blowing. It was taking my crappie nibble and I caught it in the lip. It's mouth was in no way big enough to go over the bend of the hook. That is pretty sensitive. My store bought St Croix's just became my #2 rods.
It was rigged with 14lb Fireline Fused Braid and a 18 inch, 8 lb. fl.carbon leader and a 1/16 oz jig. Pfluger Supreme reel. Light weight and well balanced.
You folks should try one of her rods. This is my first but not my last. She does great work and is a wonderful person to do business with.
