Been spending some time playing around with ideas, thought a cricket jig might be a challenge. :D These are pretty small and took awhile to tie..... but was fun and i think they turned out prety good. The poly yarn bodies should also soak up & hold scent - thinking i may try to dunk them in some of the Gulp! juice.

Both of these are 1/80 with #8 sickels - thanks JJ1!
Materials: Black poly yarn body with contrasting thread colors. Black silicone for legs. Boar hair for antenae (sp?)

An extremely  :jig:!

Very intricate. I like your design. :icon14:

I've wondered if boar hair bristles might have an application for weed guards. Aren't boar bristles often used as whiskers on deer hair mice?

Thanks everyone! :)

I think the boars hair (in single or double fibers) would work well as weed guards on small jigs. Going much larger than 1/16th and i am not sure if they would have the strength to be useful..... unless you used a large bunch of them maybe?

The knots in the legs are cake - i tied them in the middle of a skirt strip and just cut the length so the 'knees' were in the right place after they were tied in. :D

Getting the shape right (still not 100% satisfied) and putting the contrasting stripes of thread on were the toughest parts for me.

Will see on that tutorial......
