Crankbait Victims

It was a little cooler, or should I say, not as hot this morning so we pulled some crankbaits. We came home with 29 keepers, enough to fill up my ironing board cleaning table.

The creek channel I am following runs from 20 to 25 ft deep. outside of the creek it is 10 to 12 ft deep. I really don't think the crappie are relating to the channel though. They are following the schools of shad around and feeding on them. My crankbaits are running around 10 ft deep so I'm trying to stay in deeper water to keep from getting hung up. If you can find shad on your depthfinder, there will usually be crappie under them.
