Thanks redear - should the strips be thick like these?? When I tied them in they were spread out but pulled back together. I'm going to take a pair of my hackle pliers and use those to hold the satin when I tie it in that stuffs slippery than squirrel hair!!!LOL

Doug the jigs I have fished with all of the satin comes together to make a thin line so I don't see where it matters if they are close together when tied. The fish will never see it apart but our eyes will so the only difference is eye candy to us.
Good looking jig Doug. :)

Nice!!!! I like the amount of satin you used, I only tie a few strands in but I may change, very good work!!!!!!

Doubling over the strands might help with the slipperiness problem. It would also make the satin threads harder to pull out.

Doug, having not fished these jigs yet, I am not sure how much satin to put on there, but I have been using basically one thick bunch per side of the jig, then put some flash on over that. It seems that the white satin has a different personality if you will, it just seems easier to handle and easier to tie, just everything about it is easier than other colors and I don't know why. maybe I have two different brands of satin don't know, but the easier handling white seems to have thicker threads in it. gonna have to see what the pond fish like to be sure.
