I've heard a couple times that TPWD says the feral hog problem, "...is not something we can BBQ ourselves out of..."

And yet someone will or at least adapt it. We had a cute lil' brown mink in residence at our spring fed winter open water trout park section of Lake Ogallala. Made a home in the rock foundation under the shoreline concrete walkway and it was fun to try to bring in a catch without Ms. Minkie snatching it. The regulars would feed it dinks and got a chuckle when newbies catches would irreversibly disappear under their feet. She was pretty tame coming out to sun and would swap eyeballing in her rock crevice hides. Then she was gone.

Whether domestic or wild animals will bring joy into our lives with there antics. They are just being what they are animals. We sometimes try to be what we are not. At any rate our pig is now all of ours pig. No doubt it will have a smooth life when all this is done. It will never see the inside of a slaughterhouse. A very pampered pig.
