Thanks guys. We will see what the gills think this weekend. Russ, it is partridge. I like to use the feathers off the back that are more brown than whitr if that makes sense.

I normally do the fly on a #121/64-oz scud hook. Black bead, partridge for tail, black peacock ice dub with copper wire rib body left about a turn short of the bead, partridge collar, then I take a turn or two of thread over the hackle so it is sweeping back good, then add a "collar" of purple ice dub. I am not sure what the fish take it as.... I kind of think it just looks good to eat, and they rarely turn down a big fat bug. It has caught everything from little mountain brook trout to 3# largemouth and a 4-5# drum. Moat of the time, it is bluegills.

I also got a little sample of Crazy Angler's new "Delux" chenille from a buddy.... had enough for one jig, so we'll see what it looks like wet too. I tied it on a black jighead with some siperfine rubber legs as a "collar" of sorts right up by the head. It looks buggy as heck.
