Blue Minnow

I finally tied something up on the heads I got from Ronny....I used his 1/8 minnow head with a #4 hook to tie up these minnows....used winter run blue chenille, with a shiner chenille belly....blue hackle, a little rabbit, and some flash for the tail..and a wedge of red for some accent.
Looks like a good one for all those blue loving fish in East Texas right now!!!


What do you guys think??
I am back on the ship.......so I guess it's back to tying!!! lol

Looks great to me. The red accents really set it off. Was always told a lil red is a must.
Is it Lake Fork that you fish? How's the water clarity there on the usual? Blue is a funny color for me, i love it but its weird at times, productive when i fish clear pits but sometimes its the champ in black bayous too....some other times in the same stain, it's a dud. Never had luck w/ it in the mud. Just trying to make a comparison.

I do fish Fork quite a bit, but also some of the other lakes in the area....Tawakoni, Palestine, Cedar creek.....and a few others...... it seems like Blue has been a killer over the last year..... most of them have been fairly clear every time I have been.....It has been a real good producer, if I can't get them to bite on anything else......I put on the ole blue....and can always pick up a few. It will be good to try those Ron Don heads.....Man they look like a real minnow!!!

Nicely done they will do a good job in the fall on Caddo that is for sure. For some reason blue is one of the best colors to use here when the weather starts to turn cold. And yes I like the red accent that you added to the minner.

Thanks to all..... I spent a lot of time on those heads... They came out pretty nice! Ronny makes some good stuff for sure! Hope he enjoys that hot sauce I sent him!! Lol
