Any good for Crappie?

Hook: Mustad, Size 8, Streamer
Thread: UNI, 6/0, Black
Tail: Red Egg Yarn
Body: Silver Mylar Tinsel
Rib: Fine Silver Wire
Underwing: White Calftail
Midwing: Pearl Crystal Flash
Topwing: Brown Deer Hair
Head Cement: Sally Hansen

Very nice! I have good luck this time of year with deer hair jigs and I'm sure the crappie would love that fly. I'll be tying some of those to try, thanks for posting it .

They'll work fine. If you really want some cool patterns for crappie check out a guy over on Fly Anglers online Rick Z. He has some really good patterns for crappie and they sure do work for him.

On the left hand side of the screen click on FEATURES - then click on Panfish. Lots of good stuff.

I cyber know Rick Z. I've been a member of FAOL for almost 12 years. Rick sent me some crappie flies just the other day. He knows his stuff.

Those will catch crappie for sure. I think either a fl.yellow or chartreuse tail or head with that fly would work great for crappie as well in stained water.
