Big Deep South Redbreasts

The past couple weekends have been good for Redbreast Sunfish here in GA. These were caught in Brier Creek. Caught about 25 in total on the first outing. Most of the keepers seemed to be in the 8" range, with a couple exceeding it.

After tearing them up with a 2" yellow and orange grub, I pretty much stuck with those colors the rest of the time. I added a Colorado #00 spinner on one overcast day to get a few biting.

I'm also including a bonus Spotted Sunfish for those who may not have had the opportunity to see one.

Ones in this size range certainly are. I don't think they get as big as bluegill or shellcrackers though.
