My favorite soft plastic for river trout as big as they get here. The plastic is tuffer than most so stays on the hook longer without tearing speshly on my super glued bead stack collars. The bigger they get the smarter trout get so oftentimes they learn to avoid biting the same lure they got stuck with or even hit & missed. As posted recently 1/16 #6 black or dark brown mink fur tied jigs and 1/8 #4 Do-it Swim Jigs with a pearl Flashabou tail have both been effective in a high pressure public access river sticking a few trout that have managed to elude the worm dunking meathead assault, so far anyway.

The bite has slowed on the mink & swim jigs so time to show em something new. On Sunday 5 nice ones on green back pearl color and today 4 on stealth minnow color. All colors seem to work as last season 3 other colors got bit well too. I nip off the head & eyes to have a flat surface for a better fit against a jig head.

It was inevitable that meathead worm dunkers would decimate the trout resource & last session only got 2 at obscure spots as nobody home at the usual best holds. So, last night switched to wallys in the dark and got 6 keepers + 7 borderline extimated shorts. Mentioning off topic cuz all were caught & released on a 2" pearl Ripple Shad.
