Messed around and powder painted some hematite beads. :D Of course all black bead/body would do just fine but..... Used mostly 8MM beads and #2 hooks but there are a few 4MM & 6MM on smaller hooks too. The yarn belly is packed in, fluffed out and then trimmed it to shape. The larger 8MM beads cast OK with spinning gear but the smaller ones will be used on my flyrod or as droppers below heavier jigs. They work on smallmouth - tied some in brighter color patterns to see if i could get some crappie on them this spring.

8MM beads - smallmouth intent:

Mixed bead sizes - panfish intent:

Last are some Lectric Shickens

I love the profile and how all the elements come together Attica. The colour combos are magic. The bass guys here would go crazy mental over them.

Thanks for all the replies! :)

Fatman - The bigger sized ones have #2 mustad 3366 hooks with the eyes bent just a smidge. Middle size is a #6 3366 also. Can't remember which style # of hook i used on the smallest one but it is a #10 mustad nymph hook. Just got some #12's in the 3366 too.

bombora & Radtexan - The profile on these is my favorite thing, not a shape you can easily get out of a traditional jig. They resemble some of the bottom hugging darts and suckers around my area.

tsdunigan - No pins on these! Used a piece of heavy mono to place the bead under the shank instead of out the front. But it does work both ways... this way just leaves more room to create the big/fat belly.

Jig Man - Have used very few of the chicken combo in the past - kind of a personal challenge to give pink more of a chance in my jig box this year... even have some pink powder paint now!
