Guy on another board just asked me to post some pix of the jigs I tie, so decided to share these. I chase river smallies and use these jigs with allot of success

The first batch I copied from a guy named Butch Neil. He had a shop in SW VA, it got robbed, then disappeared. These jigs were a staple for the New & James river.

The next set of jigs came from a mentor of mine if you want to call a 2-hour phone call tutoring me on how to tie his rabbit hair jigs that ended up w/ me buying allot of his stock since he was retiring.

He tyed rabbit hair jigs w/ crosscut for the body & zonker for the tail - no pig needed. Excellent winter jigs. I've added a strand or two of silicon hair, or a strand or two of flashaboo just for some sparkle.

Nice looking jigs, hookup! I especially like the rabbit jigs. They just come alive in the water!

What size are the heads? What depths do you fish them?

I've seen some of those before..... I added some silicone to a couple of my rabbit jigs and it does give it some extra movement in the water! Really nice work and there isn't a doubt that the smallies love them, they look "fishy", great job!

Nice, those are right up my alley. A lot of those colors will work here, the purple is the sleeper that people should use more often.

Looks like the fur came from an angora rabbit . Hairs are nice and long . Nice looking jigs . Not many smallies close to here but i do know one spot they bite . Might just give some bunny jigs a try .
