I made some jigs for a friend and he wanted strictly minnow type colors with nothing really dark so we came up with these and if you can't tell, these are tied on jigs made with Matzuo Sickle hooks, the guy I'm making these jigs for gave me 100 bronze sickle hooks for making him 2 dozen jigs using them and these jigs are part of his request. The top jig I'm calling "grandmas wig", it is a 3/32oz walleye head painted shad gray, it has white craft fur for the tail and an underbody of anthracite chenille. The jig has gray bucktail tied on first with white bucktail over top of the gray and then finished with some silver blue fish hair. The bottom jig is another 3/32oz walleye head in shad gray but has a tail made with a chinchilla rabbit strip and a body also made of chinchilla rabbit hair. The whole deal with the jigs for hooks came about when I showed my friend a jig I tied similar to the top jig and he really like it, specifically the silver blue fish hair. You can't really see it in the picture but the silver blue fish hair really brings out the gray and produces a sheen that looks as if it reflects off the white bucktail, it truly is a different looking bait altogether without that color of fishhair, good stuff if you use it as an accent color.

Both look nice but the silver of the chinchilla is amazing. Screams natural baitfish.

Sounds like a good deal with the hooks too.

Thanks guys, I too like the rabbit the best and the deal was going to be a dozen bucktail and a dozen rabbit but now he wants 6 bucktail jigs and 18 rabbit jigs and that happened as soon as he saw the jigs. I told him that both jigs look great in the water but you have to admit that there isn't any comparison when you compare and unused bucktail to an unused rabbit, the rabbit looks much better.
