Here are some jigs I did for a friend as he is gearing up for the early spring smallie bite on hair jigs! The top jig is a 1/8oz weedless football jig painted dark watermelon, the jig has an under body of green bucktail and over top is dark flourescent blue bucktail. The 2nd jig is a 1/8oz weedless football jig painted brown, the jig is primarily brown bucktail with some orange buctail on the back. The last jig is a 3/32oz walleye head painted pumpkin brown, it is done with dark brown bucktail with black over top to give sort of a light and dark contrast. I had to post these simple jigs as I've been all over the place since I joined this site and with the wool and satin experimentation and trying to incorporate hackle, and marabou and everything else, it was kind of nice to make these.

third jig down.....where are you getting that blend. I am getting all my powder from Colombia Coating by the pound.

PB - make sure to look through the paint receipe section there are alot of different mix's. Len has one like that in a mustard color.

I just ordered $50 bucks worth of powder from Columbia myself and have a couple more colors from ProTec to get.

Thanks guys, I'm now up to my arms in bucktail ties I need to do, I should have made a few up knowing what time of year it is.

PB, that is a blend of Columbia coatings flat brown, pro-tec yellow, and columbia white. The exact formula isn't exact but it will get you to the point of adding a little white to lighten or a little brown to darken it. 1 ounce of the yellow, 3/4 ounce brown, and about 1/4 ounce white for 2 ounces. I work with custom colors in 2 ounce increments because it is easier for me to replicate. I came up with this as the pro-tec pumpkin brown changed to a darker color so rather then chance another jar I decided to try making my own and that is what I came up with, BTW I did add about a 1/4 ounce of clear to it as the flat brown made it dull but the clear really made it gloss nice.
