A school of baby rainbows, to cast at some big brown trout in autumn that are meant to live in my favourite river but which I can never find!

From about 1/40th to 1/8th. Painted thread bodies. The 1/8th on the left is bucktail, the rest Arctic fox. The smaller heads are some old Japanese Ecogear minnow heads.

Love the green back with dots really shows on the bottom jig - dead ringers for the real thing!

Beautiful jigs, but there is one thing you should know about baby rainbows... they look a lot different than the adults. They're kind of a dull brownish olive and have really big black blotches on their sides called parr marks. It's great camouflage, which is probably why you can't find any. They don't start getting their adult colors until they get to around 5 inches, and the marks don't completely fade until they're around 8 inches. Here's a pic of some baby rainbows that might help:

Thanks guys.
Hey Shoe cool pics of the baby rainbows. Wasn't going for super realistic, just olive, pink and white with some black dots! Better try to paint some with parr marks, seen some magic little hand made crankbaits with the full ultra real baby bow paint jobs, they look awesome.
