Largemouth bass (LMB) can be cannibalistic. With that in mind, I tied the jigs shown below to represent LMB young-of-the-year. Included are a couple of red-eyed variants. Each is tied on a 1/4-oz. ballhead jig with a 1/0 hook.

May fish them for smallmouth bass too.

Thanks for the comments everyone. :)

Dotting eyes can often be tedious to me. It's not bad with low numbers of jig heads. Alternating their colors is fun. This is all part of the artistry that I feel is involved with jig making. It's very enjoyable to me.

There are many talented jig makers here and it's fun to participate on a site with so much talent.

Pup,
Those are the best looking eyes I have ever seen if they are hand done. Are you willing to share your secret, process, powder paint or lacquer and how do you apply them on the jigs so perfectly? I would like to do that on my round head jigs. Or you can PM me if you would like.

Cadman,

Thank you. I use the combination of a brad or finishing nail and hemostat. The nail is aligned at a 45-60 degree angle to the hemostat. I dip the nail head into the cap of a bottle of artist's acrylic paint and then apply it to the jig head by touch. It's a two-handed process for me.

Once the eyes have dried, I coat the entire jig head with epoxy glue or polyurethane varnish.
