I been catching a lot of heat lately about not TYING any jigs! So i took on these even though i dang sho didnt have the time to do it! Been months since i tied anything and of course to me these arent the easiest to do. Kip and thread necks! I will say that it was fun to sit behind the vise again. Not the best thread necks but they will have to do! Once i finished these i sat and tied a few jigs for myself.

Not a jig pic but heres Ju Ju doing two of the things she does best.... Blowing bubbles and going after whatever you have in your hands! In this case it was the video camera!

you did a good job on those jigs, I favor the kiptail over anything else, I think it's because I know a few old timers that are fanatical about those jigs and they are so happy to get any that I make, and they always have a fishing success story for me.

Those are beasts! I wouldn't attempt 'em. Especially the painted eyes. Using drill bits for those? They look great. My best catches are on jigs whose colors never make sense together. You can put a pink or orange head on ANYTHING underneath and I'll be confident in fishing it. BnC only reassures that confidence.

I've always tried to understand the fascination with kip from the outside looking in, but just never really gave it a shot. Will one day.

Funny you call her "Ju Ju", that was my nickname on the playground bball courts growing up. Never asked, they were always bigger and tougher than me. But never better.
Adorable is the best word I can come up with for her. You'll have your hands full. I miss those days. Now mine is full of inquiries that make me squeamish to have to think about and explain, but so the cycle goes. I appreciate every second of it though.
I would have you rolling laughing with the words he mis-pronounces in his "at age" learning ventures. Things I'd've never thought about at his age. Funny how I used to make fun of my pops for being so "old school", now I'm him X100. I blame the radio, hah.

Thx for the show n tell. Great work.

Those thread necks look cleaner than i can do with the kip! The eyes are too perfect - looks good all around!

Girl is a doll too. I am only about 6 years ahead of you with my youngest and it seems like a giant leap in time since he was that young.... it goes quick.

Doc you are correct!!! but Calf body hair is way different to tie with - the trick is once you get it tied in you use one of the ladies hair strighteners that has the curve blades in it and you can krinkle the hair!!!! I can't do it anymore as my daughter took it with years ago when she left for college = she still has it and every time we go to Michigan she hides it!!!!!!!!

Those are good-looking jigs RD.

I have some "root beer"-colored kip that I've been considering using for quite a while. Your ties serve as a great reminder. :icon14:
