I've only started targeting largemouth bass for maybe the past month with a preference for open water where its possible to present standard jig heads with plastic tails without weedguards or weedless rigging. However, my go to 1/13 oz 2/0 Gami round bend light wire heads with 2-1/2 to 3" stub soft "plastics" get deeply swallowed maybe half of the time. Luckily, bass have big mouths and enuf space between gill rakers to reach in with forceps for a successful hook removal and very very rarely are the fish seriously injured evidenced by bleeding. Gamakatsu micro barbs also mitigate de-hooking without serious injury.

Is there some way to minimize deep swallows ? Tomorrow I will try significantly oversize Gami 3/0 EWG hook same weight jigs hoping the point angled down towards the shank will allow sliding thru the gullet without sticking until the jig reaches the lip on the way out during a hookset.
