Sm - some fishers out here use corn with a fly rod and chum – chumming, out here, is illegal.
They say the Carp is the poor man’s Bonefish.

Some of the older jig tyers back home preferred that ball collar as they call them. Made flaring bucktail really easy and the bump also kept materials from slipping off.

Thanks for the offer Jungle. Might just do so when I figure when I can next target em.
I think but not sure berleying (as we call chumming) is illegal in freshwater here. I do know some guys used to hang a dead 'roo or sheep on a branch over the water of inland rivers _ the carcas would get flyblown and the maggots drop into the water _ to attract native fish like Murray Cod or Yellowbelly. And legal: "No officer, I think it got stuck up there in the last flood"
Fatman I don't mind the collars; makes me less likely to tie a bowtie:D _ too narrow a thread collar!
