Not sure how it all works since i do not pour lead..... but don't you get extra lead flash from the mold not being able to completely close or did you modify the mold?

No flash use do-it wacky weed guards .012 dia.

I have some of those guards, going to have to try a few in other molds next time I pour. Always like to try something different.
