Yesterday was cold in Deep East Texas. Didn't want to go out on the lake so stayed inside and Tied. Here are some that can off the vice. I did more of the ponys but figured that 3 of each was enough to look at. I did fill in some one and two in the jig boxes but wanted to do some new ones to try. Think that these will interest the Crappies for a day or so. Please Enjoy

Those little snapper blues we use for bait, I use a spoon with a treble on the end seeing that blues like to short strike tails.

Thanks for all the comment and kudos. Must have tired myself out yesterday as I didn't do any thing today. Will start in tomorrow again have some heads I need to pour and paint as it looks like next week will be fairly nice and can get in a few days of fishing. And this time of year longlineing will put some big slabs in the boat. Can't wait to taste a golden brown crappie filet. Of course I have to make some hush puppies and cole slaw with french fries. Makes it all worth it.

Nice - the fatter body black/chart are gonna be your bucket-filling-keeper jigs IMO. ;) My waters anyway. You keep score now so i can prove myself right! The hackled ponies look interesting as well though..... hmmmmm

Hackle on the pony heads work really well . A full hackle tie with small neck feathers is killer too when you throw a duck flank feather down the side . Around here a tie like those seem to be more productive in winter . The weird thing is some places only want a few hairs or feathers sticking out for a tail . . Commonly called sprig jigs . Made a bunch never used them . Some of these days we are going to have to get together and do a bunch of old school ties for these fellows .

Jim very sorry about the cold weather. Think that the son sent it from Iowa!!! Will talk to him about not sending any more down.Lols.

Yes Toad two old Geezers like us can teach some of these new young lions a trick or two still. Then it will be new again. I am like you we have forgotten more that some will ever know. Not bragging but when you have tied as long as us two you get to the point that I can't remember how we use to do some of the things that we did. Think that some of the guys that fish Smallmouth in Ohio would love the old patterns like the Yellow Sally and the Jimmy Seih. And would bet good money that they would still catch a limit of fish.

And to all thanks for the kind comments. Know that I haven't gotten stale yet and still know what I am doing. Not ready for the boneyard yet.
