There is the shad 9 or shad jig (SH9 series), shad jig (SHB-4-VM & VA series) , and shad head jig (SHB also - think one of the SHB series has recessed eyes.

What size, kind & manufacturer of hooks?

The 2 oz. should be a 6/0 and not really sure about the 4 oz. probably 9/0 or 10/0.These are for fluke amd striped bass in the Atlantic.New Jersey area.Eagle Claw tinned 635's would be fine.

If you are looking to tye - don't think it would be the shad 9 jig - we use them out here with swimbaits.

I have the SHB-2-43 that has the 4 oz shad head (barbed & non recessed eyes) that takes a 9/0 hook (Mustad 91715). Also have the SHB-3-VL for the 2 oz shad head (barbed & recessed eyes) that takes a 5/0 or 6/0 hook - interesting that it calls for the VMC 5150 (barbarian). Do-it sells VMC now - VMC was bought by Rapala.
