Beautiful gill,color looks like the ones we have here. Sizewise there is no comparison,that one is huge. Only bluegill I've seen here that size was a hybrid.

Holy....What did big chunky bite?
This lake has an "artificial lures only: no bait of any kind, no barbed hooks, catch and release all fish policy which is strictly enforced. My son started using some "Gulp Earthworms", which he and I thought were plastic, so we thought it would be fine to use. He caught a couple nice BGs so I put on a barbless hook and threaded on a piece of the Gulp worm and all hell broke loose. One big fish after another! Then my giant took my bait. Wow! I thought I had a nice bass on. Later found out that the Gulp type baits are illegal....

You find the right bait and you will have a great day catching those fish. That is some big gills.
