Got out for a few hours this morning and it was beautiful. Had to hunt for the 7 I brought home for the grease. 3 came off a brushpile and 4 were on a couple docks. Surface temp was 80.5 at Flat Creek bridge and 76.5 in Saline Bay. It won't be long. BRING IT!! The bp fish wouldonly bite my new blk/chart bunny so when I lost the only one I tied, no more bp fish. The dock fish were hitting the Mini Slab Bandit in Sour Grape. It was a PERFECT morning but the NE wind started kicking up around 11. Here's a couple pics.

Good looking mess of fish. Sounds like you need to start working on a sour grape hand tie...... maybe with a silver head!

Russ, I tied these right after the spawn & they worked but plastics shoot easier. My tied jigs don't "Skip" very good. LOl.

The feathers are Fl. Chartreuse & Purple Guinea Foul & they're a dark purple. That's also when I started mixing powders to come up with my grape color

What size jighead are you using shooting the docks. We use 1/32 and even 1/64 tied jigs with no trouble getting the jigs where you want em.

The paint job looks very good and a sweet tye. Nice work.

I use a 1/16oz w/#6 sickle. I get the small Slab Bandit's back just fine but my tied jigs are more wind resistant it seems. Plus, the plastic bait often when it hits the water may skip another couple feet where the tied jig, where it touches the water is where it stops.

What kind of gun are you using to shoot the jigs!!! I use a 12 gauge. :D:D

Yes the tied jigs tend to stay where they hit with a big jig but try a smaller one and see how it works for you. I use a 1/64 and 1/32 with a #6 sickle and also pour some of the 1/32 with a #4 sickle that works good too.
