You for sure can catch cats on jigs, my largest to date on a rod and reel. Jigs are about all I fish with anymore, and its mostly for crappie. But I do enjoy going offshore for the big stuff, and bucktail is better suited for those guys, but even bucktail doesn't last long there. Fox fur gets...

Thanks for the info, I use mostly feather and some fox for fresh water. Bucktail for salt. Trout fishing is slim pickings where I live. The state boys turn some loose in the wintertime, but that can turn into a rodeo...
