    Fatboy spinners

I've had this custom mold for a few years and for some reason hardly ever use it. A tied jig with blade weighs 3/32 oz, great in between size weight. There are some of these in the guessing game with and without swivels. Poured these this morning and tied them up. The orange black chenille was...

    Guessing game

I was pouring this morning and came up with an idea for a guessing game. All but one of these are from custom molds that CAT made for me a few years back.11 different jigs total. I didn't pour with all that I have because I got hungry. Rules are simple. Guess how many are in the pile in the...

    PB RATTLER TUTORIAL

These are 1/16 jigs with a #2 Owner 5318. I tied in 8 strands of chartreuse midge flash then tied in the possum hair for the tail. Tied in the rattle next and added a couple drops of super glue to keep it from moving. Tie in a long grizzly hackle.

    Articulated crappie jigs

I used a #6 Matzuo Aberdeen sickle for the stinger hook and added blades to a couple of these crappie baits which average about 2.5 inches long. Had to do a few of the duck jigs, hope they have a nice wobble to them in the water.

    The Kitchen Sink articulated jigs

While recovering from shoulder surgery I've been looking around for ideas for something new to try and decided to try articulated jigs. I called these the Kitchen Sink because of all the different materials that went into tying these. Slow tying these because of the shoulder, took an hour to do...

    California and Arizona trip pictures

Been home over a week and finally getting around to posting some pictures. We fished Perris, Vail lake and Lake Havasu. Bluegill at Perris, Bass and crappie at Vail and the Redear and smallmouth at Havasu made it a great trip. Caught 4lb. 9oz redear on a live crawfish. Might have weighed more if...

    Spring is here

I've been fishing this lake from the bank for over 30 years and know it has some nice crappie in it if you can find them. Fished it several times this year with the normal close spots not producing much. Decided it was time to take a walk to the back side of this lake where I haven't fished in a...

1/16 and 1/8 oz crappie spinnerbaits

1/16 in the first picture on a #2 Owner 5318 jig hook. 1/8 in the other two pictures. Been catching some nice crappie the last few years early before the spawn on these. Seems like I lose more on the safety pin type in the first picture then the regular type in the other pictures. Lost four on...

These fire tigers weigh 3/8 oz with a 3/0 gama 111 jig hook. Total length is about 4 inches long. Might be a little big for crappie but walleye might like them.

    Some little bucktails

These are 1/16 on a #2 Owner 5318. Watching too many fishing videos with people fishing with them so tied a few up. These are 2.5-3 inches long and thought a crappie or two might like them.

    Pink Opposum and More

Dyed a few colors this morning of opossum, last picture is some pank coyote. Should be able to tie something nice with this, hair has some translucency to it. I kept it simple and used food color, vinegar and two of my daughters coffee mugs. After mixing colors I put it in the microwave for 1:30...

    Cold water crappie

Ice was finally off this city park lake,(cement pond) so thought I'd try since it's close to the house. 40 degrees, cloudy and breezy and didn't dress warm enough so didn't stay but a couple hours. Caught a few small gills on a duck jig and this crappie on a black/chartreuse glow tube jig. Not a...

    Craft Hair Firetigers

Warning!!! Tying with craft hair is addictive. Found some old stuff that I had, bought 8 colors from Punisher Lures and tomorrow I plan on visiting FeatherCraft to see what colors they have. Bigger ones are 3/32 on a #1 574 long shank jig hook and smaller one's are 1/32 on a #4 sickle hook...
