I voted chimney, but always keep some lighter fluid handy.... I hate leaving the chimney out in the wind somewhere when my kids are out playing. Maybe just mine, but it takes forever to light coals if there is no breeze. :huh:

Lately, we've been doing without petro accellerant starter. So, paper & a little firewood under the charcoal. Like to not need matches eventually - wish I had joined the Boy Scouts long ago & learned how.

On my charcoal grill it's a 'lectric starter..(No liter fluid taste) I also have a gas charbroil grill that I use so I quess I am just a confused griller...LOL
P.S. my wife is a gourmet cook so I usually make sure the beer is ok and watch her grill..

I use an electric smoker most of the time. You just add a few wet chips for flavor. Best ribs you've ever eaten. 3 hrs. at 230 degrees, Yum Yum

I'll stay with gas Cooked on the grill the last 4 days but the rest of the week I'm going to hand the cooking back to the wife (just so she don't forget how)!!!:beat-up:
