Been using these forever. They're perfect for how I fish. HOWEVER, I think they may have gone to crap. Picked up a couple new'n's bc mine were starting to show rust around the through bolt and washers. Got em home spooled em with hi vis vicious and checked em. Anti reverse is no longer solid.

When you engage it, it no longer clicks. Lots of play in it and occasionally won't catch. Missed fishies.
How can you fail at making a basic line holder?
Gon try one of those Wally solo reels soon.

I have a few of the old ones made by the old guy in LA that I will give you if you want them. I don't like them and there just gathering dust. Your address the same?

Ditto on the SOL reel . I am going to get a couple extra for ice fishing. Back when I first got mine I put them in my freezer overnight to test for coooooold weather use. Took em out and both worked flawlessly. Biggest fish landed on one of them so far 12 # carp. It handled it like a dream . Winners in my book even tho well under 20.00
