Got out with my friend Keith for some very nice Crappie. Used 2lb test with a 1/32nd BS (EC Lil' Nasty #6) and Keith was using plastics + the secret concoction - had to use some too. Tried the bobber thing again - hate it, did better with counting down and retrieving. Caught them on a plain pink auto as well. Double limit of 15" to 16" fish!

Great catch, another place I want to fish when I get out there. Looks like you're hanging with the right guy. Seems like he knows where some fish are.

Very much appreciated amigos!

FINALLY - a consistent solid crappie bite - for me. Was really determined on this outing. Very gratifying to catch some quality fish on a personal custom tye & 2lb test.

Maybe have to sneak over there for a day once I get out there Sonny. I'm greedy. Want to fish everywhere, just not enough time.

Sonny- Real nice crappie. If you can't stand using the slip bobber. ( I am 67 years old and nothing compares to the delight of watching a bobber plunge beneath the surface. ) Instead of using the countdown method Take the bobber off and use the stop as a line marker for the depth you are seeing the most action.

You can use the surface of the water as a reference point or a spot on your rod. I use this technique when vertically jigging for any fish.

Anyway back to the bobbers. I use these almost exclusively the bobbers and stops.

The only time I don't use a bobber is when I am vertical jigging. Use the bobber with a minnow to find depth of fish . Then take the easy-off bobber off and the stop is the at the fishes depth for vertical jigging.

OMG! I knew there had to be someone else out there doing that besides me!
