Nice. :) I know a guy who sprinkles flash dubbing over his cat before he does that in order to get a nice blend. Personly, I find brown labrador an absolute killer. For blending it, however, I rather use a coffee mill.

don´t forget to put that in the freezer for a week or two before storing it, as even a well groomed cat - such as any other animal - could carry mites and other fur-eating little critters able to ravage your supply of organic tying materials.

Not too worried about him having bugs in his fur. He's an indoor cat and never goes outside except to sit on the deck railing on my second floor apartment.

My vise is on a pedestal mounted in one of those wooden travel cases. I don't have a tying room so I tie sitting in a recliner with the case on my lap. He likes to sit on the arm of the chair and watch while I tie. I had the furminator sitting nearby, so I just took a few swipes (he doesn't sit still very long for brushing) and mixed in some SLF for flash. If it turns out to be a good pattern, I'll call it the gremlin since his name is Gizmo. :D

I want to try the coffee mill trick, but I don't drink coffee and haven't been able to find a cheap one. I need to check the thrift stores around here.

Shoe - I got an electric Black/Decker at walmart for $9 bucks - and my wife found a battery operated one at Costco for $5. I had checked the Goodwill store but didn't find any.

I did it too!!! It looks great on your jig!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have 2 cats, Morris and Dingbat, I know the name is weird but it is a long story, they both love the brush and with 1 black and the other orange and white I get some interesting blends.

I just lucked out adopting a cat with really fine hair that's the perfect shade of blue dun. I also have another cat who is a brown tabby, and dubbing from her comes out dark brownish gray with white stripes on the guard hairs. If the swap box ever goes around, maybe I'll put some of their fur in it. Washed, of course.
