That one may have been one of them that came in the "Kits" back in the "Dark Ages"

JSC that's what I was thinking one that came with one of those kits that were offered in the 1960's Think that they were about $4.95 or a few bucks more. No bobbin just a few feathers, thread, and hooks and you were on your way. A one page pamphlet. and you were a fly tyer. Life was so simple way back then!!!!!

The head and stem shape remind me of the old Thomas vise (now called a Xuron). Your photo has a thumb screw to tighten it while the Thomas has a handle and a base not a clamp.
