I like experimenting with new materials also, MaryLou. I seem to remember that some people use moose hair (or maybe it's called moose mane?) for antennae/feelers on crawfish and shrimp patterns?

Does that ring a bell? Is it like tying with really stiff deer hair?

Hippel....
Since some of this moose hair is long..and I thought the same thing..feelers..antennae...but this is the first jig I have tied with moose hair..I still have a ways to go with it...I have not tied with deer hair yet...I am still pretty new to jig tying...
But.....it's been FUN !!..:)

Thanks Jiggy! I like to try to tie with different materials.
Don't know how the moose will work but we'll find out.

I like the top left one. Heck, there all good!

Thanks Ragged Edge! I've been looking for the orange barred hackle
for a while and finally found it. I think maybe a orange head and black body might be better!
